A national holiday in India but why do we even celebrate it?  


Republic day marks the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect, 26th January 1950.


What is the constitution?


The constitution is a governing document that is an aggregate of fundamental principles or established precedents that constitute the legal basis of a polity, organization or other type of entity and commonly determine how that entity is to be governed.


The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect on 26 January 1950.


The main Republic Day celebration is held in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Rajpath before the President of India. On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath, which are performed as a tribute to India; its unity in diversity and rich cultural heritage. Various tableaus, India's defense army that includes shows on land and air are all performed here.


Apart from all these, there are a few awards that are awarded for exceptional bravery and courage such as-


Padma Vibhushan for "exceptional and distinguished service". Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award in India.

Padma Bhushan for "distinguished service of a high order". Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in India .

Padma Shri for "distinguished service". Padma Shri is the fourth-highest civilian award in India.

  Krishna Janmashtami Hello,  This is my first blog on this platform and to begin with  Hare Krishna , I am going to write about what exactly is  Krishna Janmashtami, why we celebrate it and many more. Krishna is said to be the 8th avatar of Lord Vishnu. He was born to Devaki and Vasudeva in 3228 BCE. Lord Krishna was born on the 8th day of the dark fortnight (Ashtami) in Mathura. This day is observed as the birthday of Krishna and is called Krishna Janmashtami.   People visit the ISKON temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna to celebrate Janmashtami. Hare Krishna!
